Bitcoin addresses are anonymous to the degree that they are not explicitly attached to a name or specific account holder. Unlike traditional banking systems, they function with the following characteristics:
- No Identification: Addresses contain no personal identification data.
- No Account Owner Link: The address exists independently of a user's real-world identity until externally linked.
Blockchain Visibility
While the user's identity is hidden, the transaction history is public. If you look up a wallet on the blockchain, you will see the following data:
- How much BTC has been sent to that wallet.
- How much BTC has been sent from that wallet.
